Deep, rich and sensuous, this aromatherapy bath oil is one of my favorite homemade bath products.
It calms your nerves and quiets your mind, while the self-care relaxes your muscles, so you can fall into a deep, peaceful sleep.
Not only that, but these essential oils are especially good for repairing the skin and reducing wrinkles (Bonus! I'm all over that!)
If you don't have time for a bath, simply massage some of the lavender aromatherapy oil into your face and torso before sliding into bed - you'll get the same luxurious effect!
20 drops Lavender essential oil
16 drops Orange essential oil
4 drops Clary Sage essential oil
1 drop Vetiver essential oil
1 drop Ylang Ylang
4fl oz (125ml) carrier oil of your choice (see below for ideas)
Combine all the ingredients in a dark glass or PET plastic bottle. Store it in a cool, dark place (not your bathroom cabinet - it's too warm and humid.)
To use your aromatherapy bath oil, pour about a tablespoon into the bath after you've finished running the water. Click here for tips on how to take a perfect aromatherapy bath.
Choose carrier oils that nourish and support your skin type.
You could add a bit of borage oil or sea buckthorn oil to a base of sweet almond oil or jojoba oil.
Use grapeseed oil or jojoba.
If you have troubled skin, eczema or psoriasis, or if your skin is really sensitive, try avocado oil, calendula oil, or kukui nut oil.
You can really boost the skin-repairing powers of the essential oils by tailoring your carrier oils to your skin's needs.
Experiment - it's fun, and your skin will love you for it! Click here for the secret to super-soft skin.
I started using essential oils from doTerra after comparing them to the other brands in my stash.
I found myself using fewer drops per recipe and actually getting better results. Plus, I've never had a bad reaction, which sometimes happens with other brands.
doTerra's oils cost more than other brands, and that's as it should be. It's like buying a BMW vs. a Kia - the more expensive car is the better quality vehicle.
If you can afford them, I recommend giving doTerra's oils a try and comparing them for yourself.
You can buy doTerra's oils at retail prices by clicking the Shop button at the top. Or click Join & Save to become a wholesale customer and get a store-wide 25% discount. Message me if you want more details on the wholesale thing - why spend more than you have to, right?
I recommend Mountain Rose Herbs if you're on a tight budget. Their oils are more affordable and the quality is good. They supply all the basic ingredients, like the carrier oils and glass bottles. I trust them - and their customer service is terrific.
Or... If you love having tons of options to choose from, browse through Amazon and see what looks good to you. Just remember that inexpensive oils are likely to be lower in quality - how else do they get the cost so low?
