This vanilla cream massage oil lotion bar recipe is simply sensational!
It smells divine, tastes honey sweet AND makes your skin silky soft. It simply melts as you glide it on, with a rich smoothness that lasts and lasts.
It's one of my favorite body butter recipes (could you tell?)
Not only is it deliciously decadent, but it's GOOD for you too - and not just for your skin!
It has no harmful or synthetic ingredients, so it's completely safe to use as an edible body butter. Yummmmm!
3 tablespoons (45g) Shea Butter
1 tablespoon (15g) grated Cocoa Butter
2 tablespoons (30ml) Virgin Coconut oil
2 tablespoons (30ml) Sweet Almond oil
1/4 teaspoon Vitamin E (or 1 capsule)
1 teaspoon (5g) Honey Powder OR confectioners (icing) sugar
6 drops Vanilla Absolute Essential Oil
1. |
Put about an inch (2.5cm) of water in the bottom of a medium-sized pot and heat to a low simmer. |
2. |
Place the cocoa butter, shea butter and coconut oil in a large heat-proof glass measuring cup (such as Pyrex.) Place the measuring cup in the water and warm slowly over a low heat until the butters are melted |
3. |
Stir in the almond oil. |
4. |
Remove from heat. Drop in the vanilla essential oil and whisk briskly to incorporate it into the liquid. Whisk in the Vitamin E and honey powder or sugar. |
5. |
Pour the hot massage oil lotion into small silicone soap molds or a silicone muffin tin. Let cool. When they're completely cool, remove them from the molds and wrap them in plastic until you're ready to use. Enjoy! |
This massage oil lotion bar recipe makes approximately 4oz.
If you find the lotion bar too soft, simply re-melt it and add 1 tablespoon (15g) beeswax.
Also, you can add more or less honey powder or sugar depending on your taste preference. Same with the vanilla.
I prefer Mountain Rose for all my basic ingredients, like butters and carrier oils. I trust them - their quality is always great, their prices are good and their customer service is terrific.
For essential oils, I use doTerra. After comparing and experimenting
with my recipes, I saw that recipes using doTerra's oils worked faster
and better - plus I never experienced any of the glitches like headaches
or skin irritation that happen with some other brands.
doTerra's oils cost more, which makes sense because with essential
oils, you always get what you pay for. Spending a little more for
something stronger and cleaner makes sense to me. (Plus I actually use
fewer drops than the recipes call for, which cuts costs. Genius!)
You can shop doTerra retail by clicking the Shop button at the top. Or click Join & Save to become a wholesale customer and get 25% discount. Message me to get more info on the perks of wholesale membership. Discounts are awesome!
If you're someone who loves choices, Amazon is great. You can compare, read reviews, and there's lots of price ranges to fit your budget. Just remember to buy the best essential oils you can afford - they go directly into your bloodstream, so you don't want junk.
