This fabulous homemade facial mask recipe is made with seaweed and kaolin clay to nourish dry, devitalized or aging skin.
Seaweed is an excellent source of protein, minerals, vitamins and amino acids. It draws out dirt and toxins while adding all those healthy nutrients to the skin.
Seaweed is also known to help reduce the appearance of wrinkles and and fine lines by stimulating circulation and replenishing your skin's moisture.
Kaolin clay (white cosmetic clay) calms irritation and gets rid of dead skin cells without drying out your skin. Like seaweed, it stimulates circulation, which nourishes the skin.
Homemade facial mask recipes are generally made in two parts - dry and wet. You can pre-make and store the dry ingredients, and then add the wet to a little of the dry mix when you're ready to use the mask.
I created a few essential oil blends for you to choose from depending on your skin's specific needs (and what scents you like!) Essential oils are great for skin because they're microscopic and can get right in there and get to work balancing oil production, soothing irritation, reducing wrinkles and such.
Part 1: Face Mask Dry Ingredients1/2 cup Seaweed Powder 1/4 cup Kaolin Clay 10 to 12 drops Essential Oil or one of the blends below |

I prefer Mountain Rose for all my basic ingredients, like the seaweed powder and kaolin clay. I trust them - their quality is always great, their prices are good and their customer service is terrific. Here's some quick links to the stuff you'll need for your homemade facial mask recipe. |
For essential oils, I use doTerra. After comparing and experimenting
with my recipes, I saw that recipes using doTerra's oils worked faster
and better - plus I never experienced any of the glitches like headaches
or skin irritation that happen with some other brands.
doTerra's oils cost more, which makes sense because with essential
oils, you always get what you pay for. Spending a little more for
something stronger and cleaner makes sense to me. (Plus I actually use
fewer drops than the recipes call for, which cuts costs. Genius!)
You can shop doTerra retail by clicking the Shop button at the top. Or click Join & Save to become a wholesale customer and get 25% discount. Message me to get more info on the perks of wholesale membership. Discounts are awesome!
