Citrus bergamia

The bergamot tree grows up to 15 feet (4 meters) high and has smooth leaves and star-shaped flowers, with pear-shaped citrus fruit that are like a cross between an orange and a grapefruit.

Bergamot essential oil is extracted from the peel.

The essential oil has a fruity, sweet, warm, spicy, floral citrus scent.
