Why are my candles not burning correctly?
Q: Hi! I've recently got into making candles and experimenting with different techniques. A few I have made have been wonderful so far.
However a couple ones I've made are just complete duds, they look lovely until I try to light them. They either don't light correctly or they will burn too quickly so the wick is too small to light again.
Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks in advance!
A: It might be that the wicks are duds. Sometimes that happens - you just get bad ones and you can't tell until you use them. Especially if it's random - the candles are the same size, the wax is the same, etc. but some burn and some don't.
Or... if your candle has a wide diameter, the wick may be too small. Try using a fatter wick.
I hope that helps - good luck!
