What are the best essential oils for candles?

by Anne
(Detroit)

My candles smell really faint, and I'm wondering if my essential oils are too weak. What are the best essential oils to get the strongest scent?

Great Question!

Thanks for asking!

The thicker essential oils like benzoin, patchouli and vetiver are good choices for candles because of their lingering scent. In fact, they're often used as fixatives in potpourri.

Some other good, strong essential oils for candles are palmarosa, ylang ylang, geranium and lemongrass.

Also, remember to look for a soy wax that can take a high concentration of fragrance, then add the maximum amount.

Good luck!
