Sandalwood and ylang ylang... sweet aromatherapy stress reduction
Make this spicy-sweet aromatherapy massage oil recipe to calm your mind, slow your breathing and soothe your nerves.
This is a perfect aromatherapy stress reduction blend for the end of a long, hectic day - or anytime you feel frazzled, anxious or overwhelmed.
If you don't have time for a full body massage, give yourself a gentle foot massage...
At work, rub it on your temples and take a 5 minute 'time-out'...
Or rub it into your stomach and torso just before bed to help you sleep.
Bonus: Sandalwood, frankincense and ylang ylang are all excellent for your skin - balancing, healing and wrinkle-reducing... could you ask for more?
Ingredients
10 drops Sandalwood essential oil
4 drops Frankincense essential oil
1 drop Ylang Ylang essential oil
4 tablespoons (60ml) carrier oil of your choice such as
apricot kernel oil,
jojoba oil or
sunflower oil
Method
Combine all ingredients in a dark glass or PET plastic bottle.
(I recommend using one with an oil or lotion dispenser cap so you don't accidentally pour it all over everything in the excitement of getting a massage.)
Wait at least 24 hours after blending to let the aromas 'cure'. Remember to keep the bottle in a cool, dark place. Use within three months.
If you want to make a larger amount of this aromatherapy massage oil recipe, depending on the size of the bottle, simply double or triple the recipe.
(Remember it tends to go rancid after about three months.)
