Hello, I am new to Aromatherapy. I have very little experience and I am interested in making my own massage oils, baby oils per se. I would love to hear some tips and recipes.

Rose oil?

Thanks sooo much!
I have checked the recipes page - it is great.
I was wondering about the essential rose oil. Some aromatherapists suggest it is safe for the babies but I could never find 100% confirmation.
I actually came with the idea that my oil blends will be offered as a sample in small amounts to parents for free when I conduct baby massage classes with instructions on safe introduction of the oil to the babies and how long and what kind of reaction one can possibly look for. I think getting a free sample is something a lot of shops are missing as it is hard to know what an infant or a young toddler would react to.

Anyway, I hope to hear more from others!

Infants should only use the TINIEST amount of either Lavender or Mandarin essential oil diluted in a carrier oil, cream or bath. All other essential oils can have too strong an effect on their systems. You would use 1 drop per tablespoon of carrier oil. Rice bran oil is a particularly mild carrier oil suitable for babies.

Some aromatherapists use a wider range of essential oils for babies, including chamomile, but some sources suggest that using chamomile at such a young age may increase the risk of allergies later. I would say, stick with the lavender and mandarin to be on the safe side.
