Vanilla Cream Massage Oil
Lotion Bar Recipe

A rich, sensual, edible body butter lotion bar with vanilla and honey for silky-sweet skin!

This vanilla cream massage oil lotion bar recipe is simply sensational! It smells divine, tastes honey sweet AND makes your skin silky soft. It simply melts as you glide it on, with a rich smoothness that lasts and lasts.

It's one of my favorite recipes (could you tell?) Not only is it deliciously decadent, but it's GOOD for you too - and not just for your skin!

It has no harmful or synthetic ingredients, so it's completely safe to use as an edible body butter. Yummmmm!

Vanilla Cream Massage Oil Lotion Bar Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons (30g) Shea Butter
  • 1 tablespoon (15g) grated Cocoa Butter
  • 1 tablespoon (15g) grated Beeswax
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) Virgin Coconut oil
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) Sweet Almond oil
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) Jojoba oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon Vitamin E (or 1 capsule)
  • 1 teaspoon (5g) Honey Powder OR a pinch of Stevia Powder OR 1 drop Liquid Stevia
  • 20 drops Vanilla Absolute Essential Oil

Directions

  1. Put about an inch (2.5cm) of water in the bottom of a medium-sized pot and heat to a low simmer.

  2. Place the beeswax in a large heat-proof glass measuring cup (such as Pyrex.) Place the measuring cup in the water and warm slowly over a low heat until the wax is melted.

  3. Add the coca butter, shea butter and coconut oil. Heat, stirring, until melted.

  4. Stir in the almond and jojoba oils.

  5. Remove from heat and stir in the Vitamin E and honey powder or stevia. Drop in the vanilla essential oil and stir briskly to incorporate it into the liquid.

  6. Pour the hot massage oil lotion into small silicone soap molds or a silicone muffin tin. Let cool. When they're completely cool, remove them from the molds and wrap them until you're ready to use. Enjoy!

This massage oil lotion bar recipe makes approximately 4oz.

Customizing Your Massage Oil Lotion Bar Recipe

If you find the lotion bar too soft, simply re-melt it and add 1/2 teaspoon more beeswax.

Also, you can add more or less honey powder or stevia depending on your taste preference. Same with the vanilla.

Where to Buy Lotion Bar Recipe Ingredients

You'll find silicone baking molds at your local department store. You may be able to find the sweet almond, coconut and even sometimes the jojoba oil, cocoa butter and shea butter in the organics/natural foods section of a high-end grocery store.

Stevia and Vitamin E should be available at your local health food store.

I find it easier to order everything online than to run around looking for things in a bunch of stores. My favorite supplier for aromatherapy recipe ingredients is Mountain Rose Herbs. Their prices are good, their customer service is excellent, and their quality is top-notch. Here's some quick links to the ingredients you'll need for this recipe...
