Lavender Massage Oil
Make your own massage oil for deep relaxation massage... one of the yummiest natural remedies for stress!
Lavender is one of nature's loveliest accomplishments. Not only is it pretty to look at and delightful to smell,
but it's also healing in more ways than you can count.
In a massage oil it's healing for stress, insomnia, anxiety and even pain. And combining the calming, pain relieving effects of lavender with
gentle touch is one of the best ways to achieve deep, restorative relaxation.
If you don't have time for a full body massage, give yourself a gentle foot massage
or rub it into your stomach and torso just before bed to help you sleep.
Lavender Massage Oil Recipe
Ingredients
- 12 drops Lavender essential oil
- 10 drops Bergamot essential oil
- 5 drops Benzoin essential oil
- 2 drops Clary Sage essential oil
- 1 drop Vetiver essential oil
- 1/4 cup (60ml) carrier oil of your choice such as
sweet almond oil,
jojoba oil or
olive oil
Directions
Combine all ingredients in a dark glass or PET plastic bottle.
(I recommend using one with an oil or lotion dispenser cap so you don't accidentally spill it all over everything.)
Wait at least 24 hours after blending to let the massage oil 'cure'. Keep the bottle in a cool, dark place. Use within three months.
If you want to make a larger amount of lavender massage oil, depending on the size of the bottle, simply double or triple the recipe.
(Remember it only lasts about three months.)
Caution
Bergamot essential oil can cause photo-sensitivity and sunburn.
Do not use before sun exposure.
