Lavender Massage Oil

Make your own massage oil for deep relaxation... one of the yummiest natural remedies for stress!

Lavender is one of nature's loveliest accomplishments. Not only is it pretty to look at and delightful to smell, but it also helps heal in more ways than you can count.

Lavender massage oil relieves stress, insomnia, anxiety and even pain. And combining the calming, pain relieving effects of lavender with gentle touch is one of the best ways to achieve deep, restorative relaxation.

If you don't have time for a full body massage, give yourself a gentle foot massage or rub it into your stomach and chest just before bed to help you sleep.

Lavender Massage Oil Recipe

Ingredients

12 drops Lavender essential oil

12 drops Bergamot or Orange essential oil

3 drops Marjoram essential oil

2 drops Clary Sage essential oil

1 drop Vetiver essential oil

1/4 cup (60ml) carrier oil of your choice such as sweet almond oil or jojoba oil

Directions

Combine all ingredients in a dark glass or PET plastic bottle. (I recommend using one with an oil or lotion dispenser cap so you don't accidentally spill it all over everything.)

Wait at least 24 hours after blending to let the massage oil 'cure'. Keep the bottle in a cool, dark place. Use within three months.

If you want to make a larger amount of lavender massage oil, depending on the size of the bottle, simply double or triple the recipe. (Remember it only lasts about three months.)

Caution: Bergamot and orange essential oil can cause photo-sensitivity and sunburn. Do not use before sun exposure.

Where to Buy Massage Oil Ingredients

I started using essential oils from doTerra after comparing them to the other brands in my stash.

I found myself using fewer drops per recipe and actually getting better results. Plus, I've never had a bad reaction, which sometimes happens with other brands.

doTerra's oils cost more than other brands, and that's as it should be. It's like buying a BMW vs. a Kia - the more expensive car is the better quality vehicle.

If you can afford them, I recommend giving doTerra's oils a try and comparing them for yourself.

You can buy doTerra's oils at retail prices by clicking the Shop button at the top. Or click Join & Save to become a wholesale customer and get a store-wide 25% discount. Message me if you want more details on the wholesale thing - why spend more than you have to, right?

I recommend Mountain Rose Herbs if you're on a tight budget. They have excellent products at reasonable prices, and I like their staff and respect their ethics. Here's some quick links to the ingredients you'll need for this lavender massage oil recipe...

Or... If you love having tons of options to choose from, browse through Amazon and see what looks good to you. Just remember that inexpensive oils are likely to be lower in quality - how else do they get the cost so low?
