Homemade Linen Spray Recipe

by Bonnie
(TX)

How can I make a linen spray, something I can use to iron clothes with?

I've been guessing and want to see if I'm doing it right.

I put distilled water into a 20 ounce/550 ml spray bottle, add 20 drops of lavender essential oil.

I use this to iron clothes with.

Is this the right proportions?

Hi Kyley,

Thanks! I'm excited :) I'm going to make it today and see how it goes.

Linen Spray for Bedding
by: Kyley

Hey Raven, this is a good recipe for spraying the mattress and everything because water with a few drops of eo won't stain anything or get that "old oil" smell. It's a good little recipe!

Follow-up question...
by: Raven

I was looking for a "linen spray" recipe and found this, but I don't think it's 100% what I'm looking for. I was looking for something I could spray (lightly) on the mattress cover when changing the sheets, to help keep the sheets and mattress cover fresh. I don't want to damage my sheets, mattress cover, or mattress though. Could I use this recipe for this use, or is there something else I should do instead?

Thanks!

Lavender Linen Spray Recipe
by: Kyley

Hi Bonnie,

Your recipe for lavender linen spray sounds great! The proportions are good, and of course lavender is always a great choice for clothes and sheets.

For anyone else interested in a linen spray recipe, here's a few more ideas:

If you want a stronger scent, you can increase the drops to 30 in a 500 ml bottle.

Remember to shake the bottle before using to mix the lavender into the water - otherwise it sits on top.

You can use any essential oil you like, or combine 3 of your favorite eo's to make a nice blend. As long as you keep the number of drops to about 30 per 500 mls, pretty much anything you like will be fine.

Thanks for sharing your recipe, Bonnie!

Kyley
