Fruity Smelling Essential Oil Blends

by laura
(san antonio tx)

Hello,

I have been using oils for some time now and truly love them. My boyfriend pretty much lets me do what I want and lets me try different things.

Last month we went to a spa resort for the weekend and had a great time hiking, playing out doors, swimming. At the end of the trip we did a couples message and just enjoyed.

The other day we were in the store and we were smelling the different oils. I was looking for something new for the up-coming spring, asking what he liked. I half expected him to say "Whatever you want, dear" but he didn't. He looked and me and said "I want you to get something that smells fruity."

I was shocked that he asked this. Not that there is anything wrong with it - I love when he tells me what he likes and what he wants, but I was surprised. "Fruity smelling?" I asked. "Yeah" he said, "It's spring, the berries are coming into the store, apples are in the stores and I'd like you to smell fruity."

So can anyone give me some help on a few fruit recipes or fruit oils that we can try? My boyfriend is calm and laid back, does whatever I ask or want, and really never tells me what he wants. He takes extremely good care of me and I really want to do this for him. Any help would great.

Thanks

Fruity Scents
by: Kyley

Hi Laura,

This is a really good question, since fruity scents are super popular. Unfortunately, you can't get fruity scents using only pure, natural essential oils.

I have seen some suppliers who sell powdered fruit extract, such as strawberry or apple, so you could try adding those in small amounts to your recipes. I myself haven't tried using them.

You could try a blend of palmarosa, ylang and grapefruit to get a sweet, floral, fruit-ish scent. Beyond that, you'd have to go with chemical synthetics (as far as I know) and I can't help with those, since they give me migraines :(

Sorry I couldn't be more help, Laura. Good luck in your search!

Kyley
