Facial Burn Relief Remedies

by Amber Miller
(Danville wv)

My friend was in a fire accident that left 70% of her face scarred. While the burn healed nicely, her skin is still inflamed and irritated, with red puffiness and inconsistent textures.

I was wanting to make her a regenerative oil for daily use on her face. I am using grapeseed, meadowfoam, and hemp oil in the recipe. I am wanting any feedback or suggestions to make this work. We understand that nothing works immediately, but some relief from the tightness and irritation of her face is what she needs help with now. ANY suggestions or thoughts are greatly appreciated. :)

Hi Amber,

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend's accident.

A facial oil is an excellent way to help ease her skin back to suppleness and soothe her redness and inflammation.

Kukui nut oil is especially good for burned skin, along with rosehip and sea buckthorn oils. Here's a link to the carrier oils page for more details.

I also suggest you add some super-healing essential oils to the blend, such as carrot seed essential oil (not carrot oil, carrot SEED essential oil - they're different) plus helichrysum, chamomile and/or lavender for the inflammation. Patchouli, sandalwood and rose are also excellent skin regenerators.

For the safest, purest, most effective essential oils, shop at DoTerra. Anything they don't have, I would buy from Mountain Rose Herbs. That's also where you can get the Kukui Nut oil and other carrier oils.

You might try a recipe something like this...

1/2 cup Kukui Nut oil
2 teaspoons Rosehip oil
2 teaspoons Sea Buckthorn oil
1 drop chamomile OR lavender essential oil
1 drop carrot seed eo
1 drop helichrysum eo
1 drop rose eo
1 drop patchouli OR sandalwood eo

It will be deeply healing, along with helping to restore some of the elasticity and soothing the redness and irritation.

It's going to be costly, but I imagine so would any other treatment from other sources. This blend has the advantage of adding no chemical fillers and being customizable.

If you have any questions about adjusting the blend, just post a reply here. If you want some help getting the best deals from DoTerra (I can help you get a 25@#37; discount) contact me using the link and I'll get back to you on that.

Best of luck, and please get in touch if you need any help!
