I was wondering if its okay to leave essential oils in your hair for the day. For example, I have a dry scalp and wanted to start using essential oils for my scalp and hair. I wanted to use them after I get out of the shower, its just easier for me. So I guess I have two questions:

1. Can you dilute essential oils into like a spray bottle with water and spray on your scalp and hair after you take a shower. I've been looking for a recipe but haven't found anything.

2.Can you leave it in for the whole day without washing it out.

Leave In Conditioner for Hair

Hi Danny,

It seems to me it would be fine to spritz essential oils into your hair and leave them all day. It would be like a leave in conditioner, I'd think.

I suggest trying 1 cup (250ml) water in a spray bottle and adding up to 10 drops of your chosen essential oils, say 3 drops each of rosemary, peppermint and lavender or tea tree. Then spray into your hair and rub into your scalp. Style as usual.

I would love it if you give this a try and come back and let us know how it worked. I hadn't thought of making a leave-in product, so I'd be grateful to hear the results.
