Easy Wax Cleanup for Making Soy Candles

by Beth
(Clinton, MA)

Found this tip floating around on the internet:

When your candles have burnt their last, invert the containers on a foil then paper towel lined cookie sheet and put into a 200-215 oven and let the heat melt off excess. 10-20 minutes usually does the trick. Paper towels sop up the melt. Then you can wipe them out with paper towels.

Once I've wiped them out, I run my glass containers through dishwasher. I reuse my plastic tealight cups so they get a washing in hot soapy water. Soy cleans up so amazingly easy it's a snap now to get my containers ready for a new round of candlemaking.

Awesome tip, Beth - thank you!!!
