Clary Sage Essential Oil

Clary sage is well known for its euphoric effects and is often used by aromatherapists to help with depression, burn-out, compulsiveness and nervous tension.

Clary sage oil is good for menstrual issues, easing painful periods and scanty menstruation, as well as promoting relaxation during labor. During menopause, clary sage oil can help reduce hot flushes, night sweats, irritability, headaches and dizziness.

Botanical Name and Characteristics

Clary sage grows about three feet tall with soft, dusty green leaves. It has lacy pink, white or blue flowers, depending on the variety.

The essential oil is extracted by steam distillation from the flowering tops and the leaves.

Sweet, earthy, floral herbaceous scent.

Buy Clary Sage Essential Oil

I always recommend Mountain Rose first because I like and trust them. Their quality is excellent, their prices are good, and many of their essential oils are organic (and all of them are therapeutic grade.)

Or you could shop for clary sage oil at Amazon. They have a number of different brands available at a variety of prices. (Just remember, you get what you pay for.) Happy hunting!

In terms of recommending suppliers, there's lots of really good suppliers out there, but I keep balking at the price. I can't in good conscience send you to a supplier whose quality is similar to Mountain Rose but who charges considerably (or even a little) more. I wouldn't do it myself, and I won't recommend it to you.
