Bubble Bath Recipe

by Gill
(chelmsford, essex)

Hi has anyone got a recipe for making a bubble bath from scratch, I know that I can buy an unperfumed one and add essential oils but was just wondering if anyone had a recipe for one to make from scratch.

I have found a Lavender bubble bath salts on the site but was wondering if there is any with just bubble bath.

Bubble Bath Recipe with Sugar for Long Lasting Bubbles
by: Kyley

So, I was going through my recipes looking for a foot scrub recipe, and I came across this bubble bath recipe...

Ingredients
3 1/2 cups clear, mild dishwashing liquid
1/4 cup vegetable glycerin
1 tablespoon white sugar
20 to 30 drops essential oil
10 drops food coloring

Directions
Mix all ingredients gently until sugar is dissolved.

Apparently, the glycerin and sugar are the secret to big, long lasting bubbles.

So here's my plan...

I think I'll try replacing the dishwashing liquid with a liquid castile soap and add a bit of Vitamin E. I might also try confectioners sugar so I don't have to wait forever for it to dissolve. Not sure what would happen if I heat the soap...

Also, I plan to use my ultra-fave combo of bergamot, orange and rose geranium for my first scent - it's the yummiest, happiest, most relaxing scent I've ever come up with!

Whaddaya think?

Also looking for good bubble bath recipes
by: Kyley

Hey Gill,

That's so funny - I also thought I want to make bubble bath for this season's gift giving. Haven't found a really good recipe yet, but I'll post one as soon as I do!

If you find one, please post it! The one tip I know so far is that adding a bit of vegetable glycerin makes the bubbles last longer in the bath.

Thanks for asking!

Kyley
