Aromatherapy PMS Remedies

I am new to the idea of making bath salts and spa products, and I have so many questions that I hope you can help me with.

First of all allow me to give you a little bit of background info. My cousin recently started her first menstruation, and she was extremely uncomfortable and irritable. I felt terrible and wanted to do something to help alleviate her discomfort. As I was browsing online the thought occurred to me to try to make her a bath salt that would help ease her symptoms.
So I did some research on the healing powers of essential oils for women's cycle issues and I purchased:

Clary Sage Essential Oil, Lavender (French) Essential Oil, Rose Oil Essential Oil ,Ylang Ylang-I Essential Oil,Chamomile Blue Essential Oil.

Also purchased 5lb of a sea salt/epsom mixture.

Now my issue is I cant seem to find a good recipe that will help me figure out how much of what oil to add to make it effective enough for healing pms discomfort. In other words, how many drops should I add of each oil in order to come up with a good blend?

Also I have seen recipes that add other ingredients such as glycerin or carrier oils. Do I need any ingredients aside from salt and EO?

Hi Eofa,

Sorry to hear your cousin is having a hard time with her hormones. PMS can be awful!

I would recommend you try the following recipe for her bath salts:

3 cups salt (I have no idea how many pounds that is)
20 drops lavender
4 drops clary sage
2 drops each chamomile and rose
1 drop ylang ylang

If that seems too strong, reduce the essential oils as follows:

15 lavender
2 clary
1 each chamomile, rose and ylang

I hope that helps your cousin. Even if her hormones are wacky, it should at least calm her nerves! Good luck :)
