Aromatherapy Air Freshener Recipe

Citrus & Cinnamon homemade potpourri

This uplifting aromatherapy air freshener is as pretty to look at as it is to smell! With the light, spicy scents of orange and cinnamon, it's perfect for any time of year. (But especially good for holiday gift giving!)

This homemade potpourri's stimulating combination of peppermint, orange and spices is balanced by the relaxing scents of sandalwood and ylang ylang, leaving you energized yet also relaxed. Excellent for nervous tension, exhaustion and stress.

The secret to this recipe is the salt - it absorbs the essential oils and helps the scent last and last.

Aromatherapy Air Freshener Potpourri

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rock salt (I actually use road salt because I like its rougher, more natural look)
  • aromatherapy air freshener potpourri
  • 1 cup dried Peppermint leaves
  • 1 cup dried Orange peel
  • 1/2 cup whole Cloves
  • 1/2 cup Cinnamon bark, crumbled into small pieces
  • 10 drops Sweet Orange essential oil
  • 5 drops Sandalwood essential oil
  • 1 drop Ylang Ylang essential oil

Directions

Combine all the ingredients in a large jar with a lid.

Cap the jar and leave it in a cool, dark place for at least a week to let the aromas "cure".

Arrange your homemade potpourri in some pretty bowls, set them around your house and enjoy!

To refresh the mixture if the aroma fades, just stir in another batch of the essential oils listed above. Simple!
